Victorino named AL Player of the Week

August 5, 2013 – Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino was named American League Player of the Week after hitting .400 last week to help the Red Sox stay in first place in the contentious American League East.

The Boston right fielder went 12-for-30 with three doubles, two home runs, six RBIs and seven runs scored over seven games. The Red Sox went 5-2 over that span to maintain a one-game lead over the Rays in the division.
